Spider Plant Balthazar

It survived winter break (4 weeks) without water or attention.

I think I might be killing it by over-watering it now.

Either that or it might be the chlorinated tap water I've been feeding it.

Started it on hydrogen peroxide last night.

Internship: Water Desalination/Reclamation Technology

I'm bogged down with thoughts of what I might do this summer... and this future. Though I'm not really a worrier, I do think about these things sometimes.

Actually, the problem is that I'm interested in too many things and deeply interested in something vast and complicated... HEALTH

Thoughts for today: Water Desalination
Idea came while I was in my Economics of the Middle East class. I was pondering/daydreaming the future of my few courses in Arabic (whether the knowledge would just fade away or actually be put to some use in the future) while Prof. Graber started talking about the water shortage in the Middle East. Well, there's an opportunity I guess. Singapore has expertise in water treatment and apparently there is room for this kind of technology in the ME.

For me, everything boils down to how this could benefit the health of the people. There would be less shortages and more wealth and food for the people. But... what are the incentives for the people who aren't marginalized to import such technologies or to demand them?

To be continued...
